Pause for A Moment Somewhere Along Memories Lanes. A Look At Really Old toys..
68
Toy soldiers dressed up in their finest array, from their tall, bearskin hats to Colonial days, oh, the hours we spent and the war games we played, till the real wars came by and took our friends away.....
Roly-Polys and Hickory-Dickory clocks, robot chocolate milk syrrup plus a Jack-in-the-box, Kewpie dolls and a Fisher Price train made of blocks, that we'd pull in our tracks on those long summer walks.......
Old cereal boxes that became plastic banks, we gave Mickey and Donald our pennies in thanks, Doc Kildare who nodded and made us feel well, plus Dumbo the elephant looking baffled but swell, two small black faced, salt shakers folks once thought fun,
Peter Potamus who had a really loud roar, that would blow every nemisis flat out on the floor, and Mickey whose nose is now gone evermore, but he's still a bandleader, with that smile I adore, trolley cars stacked up high with some autos of old......
Funny face cups for drink mixes sold way back when, Goofy Grape, Ollie Orange and old Lefty Lemon, a Santa Claus waving, made of very soft felt, that they sprayed over plastic like a chinchilla pelt. Some early jalopies and a school bus of tin
Peter Cottontail who played our favorite song, turn the crank, play the music and we'll all sing along...race cars and an ambulance made out of tin, with a back door that opened to put patients in, some Flintstone time bubble bath to make cleanup fu
Rows of cars all lined up like a junkyard in rows, and some acrobats on sticks all ready to go, a game of quick wit, and some cards full of cues, so many reminders of what we used to do....
A dusty old top that would spin oh, so fast, and that fairy tale train carries me to the past, but the dust on the tin cars has grown thick with the years, each driver looks puzzled as decades disappear...
Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs once graced a cake, that was long ago eaten by a young girl of eight, as the old timers gaze at Snow's beauty and brake, in the midst of that rush hour jumbled toys make, but a small army chopper is ready to fly....
The parking's haphazard, cars get stuck every day, cause wagons with no horses are blocking the way, battery op or friction they're frozen in place, cause it's been many years since they saw a kids face......
But make no bones about it, most of those kids are dead, and the skull is not talking since they boxed up his head, milk's no longer delivered right up to your front door, the horses are glue, and the wagons no more....
The world's still as fair as it was long before, and we've made lots of progress ever since "64", but some still don't care, that we're still fighting wars...helicopters and planes raining death on the masses, many of those killed are wee lads & lass
Yet there's still room for love, even if we go dutch, cause unemployment's high and health care's out of touch, and I'm sure they'll play bagpipes for many who die, in wars without end, hear their wailings go by......
enjoy the rest of the toys
and remember all the kids who played with them...they had dreams much like our own kids
a lot of their imagination now sits on these shelves
but it's still there....ready to be picked up by the next generations
let's use our imaginations and learn how to get along
instead of squabbling from the capital to the streets we live on, like a bunch of angry children just toying around with what really needs to be done.
Toy soldiers dressed up
in their finest array,
from tall, bearskin hats
to Colonial days,
oh, the hours we spent
and the battles we played,
till real wars came by
taking our friends away....
Rolly-Polys.......and
Hickory-Dickory clocks,
robot, chocolate milk syrrup
plus a Jack-in-the-box,
Kewpie dolls and a
Fisher Price train made of blocks,
that we'd pull in our tracks
on those long summer walks....... .
Old cereal boxes that
became plastic banks,
we gave Mickey and Donald
our pennies in thanks,
Doctor Kildare who nodded
and made us feel well,
plus Dumbo who looked
a bit baffled but swell,
Two small black faced,
salt shakers
folks once thought fun,
we were salt, they were pepper,
until civil rights won,.
Peter Potamus who had
a really loud roar,
that would blow every
nemisis flat to the floor,
and Mickey Mouse his
nose is gone evermore,
but he's still a bandleader,
with a smile I adore.
Trolley cars stacked up high
with some autos of old,
near an old fashioned
postal truck, colors still bold.
Howdy Doody and Buzy Bee
both stand beside,
an open mouth face
that you put butts inside,
my grandpap had one,
till with cancer he died.......
Funny face cups
for drink mixes
we'd blend,
Goofy Grape, Ollie Orange
and old Lefty Lemon,
a Santa Claus waving,
made of very soft felt,
that they sprayed over
plastic like a chinchilla pelt.
Some early jalopies
and a school bus of tin,
a test pilot car that
I'd love to ride in,
A cadillac car,
a wee house for an elf,
and a double decker bus
from some Great Brittian's Shelf.......
Peter Cottontail who
played our favorite song,
turn the crank, play the music
and we'll all sing along...
fast race cars and an
ambulance made out of tin,
with a back door that
opened to put patients in,
some Flintstone time,
bubble bath made cleanup fun,
it's still in the box filled
with baths left undone........
Rows of cars all lined up
like a junkyard in rows,
and some acrobats
on sticks all ready to go,
a game of Quick Wit
with cards that held cues,
so many reminders
of what we used to do.............
A dusty old top that
could spin oh, so fast,
and that fairy tale train
carries me to the past,
but the dust on the tin cars
grows thick with the years,
each driver looks puzzled
as decades disappear...
while one lone, leaded soldier
marches on past the wrecks,
It's a Nazi who someone
should've melted I guess.......
Snow White and her
Seven Dwarfs once
graced a cake,
that was long ago eaten
by a young girl of eight,
all the old timers gaze
at Snow's beauty and brake,
in the midst of that rush hour
jumbled toys make,
but a small army chopper
is ready to fly,
and bring back some order
from its post in the sky......
The parking's haphazard,
cars get stuck every day,
several wagons sit horseless
and blocking the way,
whether battery or friction
they're frozen in place,
cause it's been many years
since they saw a kids face......
But make no bones about it,
most of those kids are dead,
and the skull is not talking
since they boxed up his head,
milk's no longer delivered
right up to your front door,
the horses are glue,
and those wagons no more,
now we all have to go
to the grocery store,
poor Little Orphan Annie's
stuck in a nursing home,
left with poor Sandy's collar,
the rest is just bones,
and that Swift boat's
for Kerry who served honorably,
till some chicken hawks
spread vicious lies ruthlessly,
led by clowns spinning facts
on a skewer till he,
fell short in the polls
lost the presidency.
make sure that you note
G.I. Joe driving by,
in his unarmored humvee,
in which he would die,
Cause bush rushed to war,
with his troops ill prepared,
seeking W.M.D's
they never found there.
The world's still as fair
as it was long before,
and we've made lots of
progress ever since "64",
but some still don't care,
that we're still fighting wars...
helicopters and planes
raining death on the masses,
and many of those killed
are wee lads and lasses.
Most steamboats have sailed
down that old river Styx,
Captain Kangeroo's
no longer up to his tricks,
Sleepy Grandfather clock's
in a coma they say
and ol' Mr. Greenjeans
sleeps now under the hay,
about six feet deep cause
they've both passed away.
Yet there's still room for love,
even if we go dutch,
cause unemployment's high
and health care's out of touch,
and I'm sure they'll play bagpipes
for those yet to die,
in wars without end,
hear their wailings go by,
Fox network is Toon-A-Vision
just spin the dails.
and watch them change faces
erasing folks smiles
splitting our nation
with their disruptive styles.
And our peace trains
been sidetracked
by their negative spins
we should bulldoze the bullshit
and silence their din.
in a nation divided
since Obama got in.
Like these old toys we're stuck
in a time warp where we
wait for hope and for change
things that we dreamed could be
in a land where our children
can live without fear
of huge debts, no insurance,
and jobs that dissappear......
overseas where a lot of
these old toys were built,
that is when it all started
let's stop passing the guilt.
Enjoy all the rest of
the toys I've displayed
look back on those good times
and be less dismayed,
and remember the kids who
once played with these toys
are much like our own children,
our girls and boys....
so much imagination
lying stilled on these shelves
let's begin re-creation
and stop killing ourselves
with an endless stagnation
in a bickering hell.
Let the next generation
see how we get along
let's start working together
help our country grow strong,
let's stop squabbling like toddlers
and learn ways we can share
all our dreams of tomorrow
then perhaps we'll get there.

... They do not love that do not show their love.
There is no evil angel but Love.
... Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds.
... Love sought is good, but given unsought, is better.
... Now join your hands, and with your hands your hearts.
~~~~~~ William Shakespeare
Being kind is taking care of your Karma.
A random act of Kindness to a stranger bring an inner smile in two people...
Kindness is a sign of fine education started when a baby is able to hold a toy in his fragile hands... Kindness is a chain re-action.
Listening with a genuine com-passion is an act of Kindness.
MIGHTY Kurt Vonnegut:
"YOU MUST BE KIND!"... "Still and all, why bother? Here's my answer. Many people need desperately to receive this message: I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about..." "We could have saved the Earth but we were too damned cheap." "The year was 2081, and everyone was finally equal... and kind"
